2011 ITU World Triathlon Championship Grand Final
Alistair Brownlee wins triathlon’s 2011 ITU World Championship Series Grand Final in Beijing, China to take series title with brother Jonathan Brownlee’s third place in the race enough to secure him the runners up place in the series overall.
Helen Jenkins takes second place in the women’s grand final to give her the women’s overall series title.

ITU WCS Triathlon 2011 – Hamburg, Germany
The three Emma’s give Australia a 1 – 2 – 3 in the women’s round of triathlon’s ITU World Championship Series in Hamburg, Germany whilst Brad Kahlefeldt outsprints Will Clarke to the finish in the final two hundred metres of the run to win the men’s race.

Triathlon de Paris 2011
Another Brownlee one-two with team mate Mario Mola taking fifth gives Sartrouville their third victory in three races to keep them at the top of the men’s French Grand Prix series table.

Enduroman Ultra Triathlon Championships 2011
From the elite wanting to be the best in the world at their chosen distance to the novice just wishing to finish a sprint distance race, triathlon is about personal challenge. In both cases the challenge of that chosen event may be enough though many will increase the distance they race as they become more experienced. These competitors will have completed sprint and Olympic distance races and so look towards long distance races for their next challenge. For most the combination of the challenge and fitting the training into their daily lives is enough.

French Grand Prix Triathlon – Dunkerque 2011
Brownlee brothers 1-2 with Javier Gomez finishing fourth in Dunkerque gives Sartrouville their second victory of the French Grand Prix triathlon series. Poissy’s Andrea Hewitt outsprints Charleville Tri Ardenne’s Emma Moffatt to win the womens race and lead her team to their second victory of the series.

French Grand Prix – Nice 2011
Alistair Brownlee put aside the disappointment of the opening World Championship Series race in Sydney to record his first win of the year in a time of 55:49 at the opening round of the French Grand Prix triathlon series in Nice, France. With his Sartrouville team mates, younger brother Jonathan and their World Championship Series rival Javier Gomez, taking the second and third places the team also made a promising start to retaining the Division 1 team title.

Javier Gomez wins men’s race with Jonathan Brownlee taking silver after Alistair Brownlee slipped and injured himself on the third lap of the run having been with the lead pack throughout the race.
Paula Findlay holds off Barbara Riveros Diaz to take womens title in a time of 02:01:21 with current series champion Emma Moffatt finishing in 13th.

British Elite Duathlon Championships 2011
Almost exactly 5 months since starting on the TriGold programme Mark Buckingham took his first national title at the British Elite Duathlon Championships at Prestwold Hall near Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Gold also went to Non Stanford in the Elite Women’s race, Gordon Benson in the Junior Men’s race, Lucy Hall in the Junior Women’s race and Miles Burton and Sky Draper in the in the Youth Men’s and Youth Women’s events.

Abu Dhabi International Triathlon 2011
Neeaaaaahhhhhhh. The sound was faint. Neeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It was though audible, just a whisper floating on the warm air. Neeaaaaahhhhhhh. A joyful sound. The sound of an adult having fun as they indulged in a fantasy they know is unlikely to become reality. The sound of triathletes playing at racing cars as they took a corner on their bikes at the Yas Marina Circuit. Best known as a Formula 1 Grand Prix venue the track has also become an iconic part of the bike route during the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon.

Clacton Standard Distance Triathlon 2010
What a great way for triathletes to wind down at the end of the season – a brisk sea swim, a bike through Essex countryside ending with a sea front run and all under a beautiful early autumn sky. Certainly many in the field for the sold out Clacton Standard Distance Triathlon could be forgiven for having similar thoughts as they prepared to enter the water from the beach about a mile up the coast from transition.
